Chief Finance Officer

Ernest Opoku was appointed Chief Finance Officer of Phyto-Riker Pharmaceuticals Limited in August 2017. He is responsible for managing the Financial Operations, Risk, Compliance, and Financial Regulatory space, whiles supporting strategy development and execution.

Before joining the company, he was the Financial Controller for Grundfos West-Africa, responsible for the management of the regions’ Finance, IT, Procurement, and Administration. He led to complete the establishment of the regional office in Ghana.

Prior to Grundfos, Ernest worked at American Towers Corporation (ATC Ghana) as a Finance Manager. He was instrumental in the team that led the acquisition of over 2000 Telecommunication Towers from Scancom Ghana Ltd (MTN). He played a key role in supporting the Key Account Managers in collocating other Telecom service providers such as Vodafone, Airtel, and Tigo.

When Managed Healthcare Group started its major expansion, he joined Kina Pharma Limited as the Finance Manager of C & J Hospital Limited, to support the Group’s Financial Controller. He played a key role in sourcing for a USD 3million loan from IFC to establish a diagnostic Centre at Spintex-Accra, Ghana.

Ernest is a Chartered Accountant with the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants – UK in 2007. He completed his EMBA with Paris Graduate School of Management (PGSM) in Operations Management and earned his First Degree in BSC Accounting from Oxford Brooks University in 2007. He also holds a Certificate in Financial Modelling, a Certificate in HR with Harvard Manage Mentor, and played key roles in the implementation and training of ERP systems such as SAP and Oracle.
